Buddy Matthews made his way to AEW back in 2022 following his WWE release the prior year. He is currently a member of The House Of Black and has been on a roll as the AEW Trios Champion. Now it appears he reacted to using Rhea Ripley’s move on AEW Dynamite this week.
Buddy Matthews, fka Buddy Murphy in WWE, has been in a real-life relationship with Ripley for several months. The two have often shown each other a lot of love and support on social media, despite working in different companies.
As seen on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, The House Of Black defended the AEW Trios Championships against Metalik, AR Fox, & Blake Christian. The House Of Black made short work of their opponents.
In case you missed it, Buddy Matthews used the same submission move that Rhea Ripley uses in order to make AR Fox submit. Matthews took to Twitter and tagged Ripley, stating that the move worked.

Rhea Ripley also previously hinted that she could convince Matthews to make his WWE return. We’ll have to wait and see whether Mathews will be returning to WWE eventually.
