Dodi Al Fayed's film production company, Allied Stars, helped finance the Oscar award winning film Chariots of Fire and Dodi himself is credited on the film as a co-producer.

Dodi Al Fayed was killed in a car crash in Paris in 1997 alongside Diana, Princess of Wales and his driver Henri Paul. The couple had been dating since July that year and were thought be escaping the paparazzi when the fatal crash occurred. Their deaths sparked a series of conspiracy theories surrounding Diana, which have since been dismissed by investigations.
Statues of the Famous
'Innocent Victims' was unveiled in 2005 at Harrods in London. A 3m high bronze statue of Diana and Dodi dancing on a beach beneath the wings of an albatross. An earlier memorial, unveiled in April 1998, consists of photographs of the pair behind a pyramid-shaped display that holds a wine glass still smudged with lipstick from Diana's last dinner as well as a ring Fayed's son purchased for her the day before they both died during a visit to Paris.
