Arvette Denise Johnson, 48, of Norfolk, VA has been called home to be with our Lord. She was received with open arms to join her loving parents, McKinley and Alfreda Ford and her son, Michael Clemons Jr. Aka Mike-Mike. Arvette was born in Norfolk, VA to the late Mckinley M. Ford Jr. and Alfreda S. Ford. She was the apple of her parents’ eye and spoiled immensely amongst the family. Vette would do whatever she pleased; she may have been reprimanded for it, but she would get away with it. Vette had a huge heart and would do just about anything for those who were near and dear to her. She had a contagious smile, an affectionate laughter, and a sweet soothing voice. Anyone that knows her, knew don’t let that sweet quiet voice fool you because if you crossed her, she would definitely let you have it! Vette was loved by many, but she had a very small circle and if you were in that circle, she enjoyed spending time with the ones that were near and dear to her heart. She had a light spirit about her and with that she loved to laugh, she loved to dance, she loved to joke around and play pranks on others as well as being pranked, and she loved giving her love and being loved by the ones that shared their love with her in return.  Vette had an amazing bond with her husband, brother, children, grandchildren and friends. If you see Vette anywhere her husband, best friend, confidant, partner for life Kidd would not be too far from her. They shared some amazing years together. Kidd and Vette have taken care of each other from day one and he remained by her side till the very end. Vette had a very special relationship with her brother, Beaver. They will talk 3-4 times a day and every weekend they will have breakfast with each other. She adored her children, her heart was broken when she loss her son Mike-Mike, but she remained supportive and loving to her daughters, Shica aka Hollywood, Malika aka Muffin and Malajah aka Ladybug which she affectionately called them. Her girls will talk to her all day throughout the day, and they will share jokes, pranks, music/dance, food, stories and pictures between each other. Her children were her everything. She will attend dance competitions, parties, games, outings or just about anything whenever her children requested her presence.  Arvette was an ear of comfort to many, and she had a big heart. She was the CEO of Sparkle Daycare, and she has done an amazing job taking care of so many children in the community. Vette will tell you she doesn’t really care for adults, but she LOVED children. Her daycare children were her heart. She will go above and beyond to decorate, have a party and celebrate every holiday and every last one of the children’s birthdays. She was so great to all her children and their families.  Arvette was preceded in death by her mother, Alfreda Ford, her father, McKinly Ford Jr and her son, Michael […]
