The upcoming comedy sees Efron and on-screen grandfather Robert De Niro take a road trip shortly after the death of his wife, and the pair descend on spring break.
De Niro plays crass grandpa Dick who’s desperate to get out and party with the ladies again. And his uptight lawyer grandson Jason (Efron) reluctantly acts as his wingman.
Dirty Grandpa, which is a follow-up to director Dan Mazer’s 2013 rom-com I Give It A Year, also stars Julianne Hough as Jason’s uptight fiance, Meredith.
Dirty Grandpa hits US cinemas January 22, 2016. An Australian release is yet to be announced.
